Welcome to the 2015 Grow Your Blog Party! I hope you are
excited to visit the wonderful blogs out there. It's time to make some
new friends and reconnect with others.
I am so glad to be back to blogging again. Thank you to all who have been patient with my quiet blog. Last year was a difficult one with a young daughter being diagnosed with
cancer. She is doing well and we are looking forward to the day she is cancer free.
On to more fun things. I have been quilting this year and its been fun. So I am going to ask y'all, what do you enjoy most about your craft, whatever it is? I would love to hear from many different types of crafters, quilters, painters, and more!
I personally love to paint, sew, quilt, and garden. Not in that order. Life usually determines what I get to do. Painting is too messy with lots of little people around, gardening is fun with littles, (we just dug up the potatoes we planted last summer, it was like a treasure hunt!) , sewing is good, the granddaughters want dresses faster than I can make them, and quilting makes me calm. One day I will get some painting done. I have a little rocker that is crying out for some chalk paint.
I have three patterns to give away so if you answer the above
question, I will include you in the drawing for one of the patterns. You don't have to be a follower to be one of the three winners but I would love it if you did. I will send them anywhere as well.
A big thank you to 2 Bags Full for hosting this party again!
Quilty Blessings to all,
Susan

Give-away winners
Cheery good morning to y'all! I love it when I get fun little gifties in the mail. Don't you? Well three lovely ladies are going to receive some fun in the mail. Shauna, Jo and A Quilters Mission are my give-away winners. One will receive a Schnibbles pattern and some fat quarters, the others will receive Charm packs. Congratulations ladies!
I have been cleaning my sewing room and there is much I need to let go of. How do you feel about receiving some lovely things that another just can not keep? I am thinking of another give-away if there is interest. I have some books, magazines, fabric and notions that I would love to gift to someone else.
Tata for now,

Give away ends on the 21st
It has been a wonderful time to meet new friends on the Grow Your Blog tour. I am closing the extended time for the give-away on the 21st at 9p.m. Pacific time. I will be picking three winners so if you have not entered you still have a bit of time.
I have been busy hand quilting three quilts for the girls in my life. I am getting close to having them all completed. Pics will follow when they are all stitched up. I love to hand quilt and when in the mood to free motion quilt. I wonder how many out there are dual quilters? Or would you rather just send it out to be quilted by someone else?
Those needles and thread are calling me...

Susan

Grow Your Blog 2014
Welcome to Grow Your Blog 2014!
I have been married for forty years to my sweet heart of a hubby. We have three children and five grandchildren and one pup who is really our fourth child. She is an Australian Shepherd named Maddie.
I enjoy making/designing my own patterns. It is rare for me to make a quilt just as the pattern says. That is true for clothes and crafty things as well.
Well I hope you have enjoyed your few moments here. I have a little give-away. Just leave me a little note sharing when you started quilting, or sewing. I will have a drawing on the 31st. Since I can't get my pictures to load it will be a surprise. Will it be a book, or fabric or both? I hope you will join me by following along but the give-away is open to all.
A big Thank You! to Vicki at 2 Bags Full for putting this on. http://vicki-2bagsfull.blogspot.com/2013/10/grow-your-blog-2014-this-is-official.html
Until next time,
Susan

I'm back and quilting up a storm
Sometimes life brings wonderful things and sometimes it brings challenges that just may take your breathe away. Life has been just this crazy in my world. I am sorry I have been away so long but I am just now at a place where I can come back to blogland. One of the best things happening in my away time is grandchild number five was born. He is a really good baby, sleeps well and all the rest. He had to go to the NICU during his first week of life but he is good now. My favorite youngest daughter is settling nicely into married life. Another lovely part of life. The challenges are significant and are not mine alone.
Moving on to more wonderful things, quilty things. I have pieced five quilt tops and am in the process of quilting them. Some will be hand quilted and some free motion quilted. I love doing both. Do you have a favorite way of quilting? I know many send them out to be quilted and that's great but for me it feels like I am sort of cheating. That's just one of my oddities.
A friend posted on fb that there are only eight more Fridays till Christmas. So to help with the Christmas decorations I am giving away this little felt Ornament kit. So to get in on a chance for this just be a follower.
So glad to be back!

Susan

It's August and time for another try at getting something done,
so for the month of August I am going to just try and meet July's goal of finishing the quilting on my granddaughters quilt. Last month was crazy with my youngest daughter getting married, but even in the craziness I managed to get it half quilted. So I truly would like to get it quilted and linked up and actually meet a goal, ha. We shall see.
Scrappily,
Susan
